According to a popular video poker expert who goes by “Coach Kitty,” downtown boasts some of the best machines and odds in all of Las Vegas.

Casino Bars at Four Queens
Happily, Coach Kitty names the casino bars at Four Queens as having great video poker. We say “happily” because we play there often and had no idea why. (Hint: It was mostly the liberal comps and long liquor pours.)
Coach Kitty says, “At both the casino bars at Four Queens, they have almost full pay Double Double Bonus video poker in 50 cents.”
Remember, the denomination is multiplied by five, so that’s $2.50 a hand. For the most part, the higher the denomination, the better the payback.
The two bars are Kings Bar (near the casino’s west entrance, pictured below) and Palace Bar (near Wana Taco).
Among the other attributes of these bars, our expert says the bartenders are among the friendliest in town.

Our expert not only loves the video poker at Boar’s Head Bar, but also the beer.

Ultimately, though, it’s the gamble that makes Boar’s Head one of the best places to play video poker in Las Vegas.
Coach Kitty says, “They have 9-6 Jacks or Better, which is really the best game with the lowest variance, in quarters, 50 cents and $1.”
The “9-6” refers to the payout for full house and flush. It’s kind of a shorthand for video poker players to tell if a game gives them more bang for the buck.

Four Queens
The best bar top video poker in Las Vegas is at Four Queens, which is located on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas. It spreads 10/6 Double Double Bonus in $0.50 and $1 denominations. It is available at all bars at Four Queens. This is not the full pay 10/6 Double Double Bonus as it only pays 40 on a straight flush. The full pay version pays 50. However, at 99.96% return-to-player, it is the best video poker in any Las Vegas bar.
If quarters are your preferred denomination, Four Queens still has decent games. This includes 9/7/5 Double Bonus and 9/6 Double Double Bonus. These quarter games have a progressive royal flush jackpot.

South Point
The second-best bar top video poker is found at South Point, located on Las Vegas Blvd south of the Strip. The best game is Not So Ugly Ducks, which is Deuces Wild where a wild royal pays 25 per coin, five of a kind pays 16, a straight flush pays 10, and a full house and quads each pay 4. This game returns 99.73%. Bonus Poker Deluxe (99.64%) and Jacks or Better (99.54%) with a 9/6 pay table are available. Some machines have three and 10-play. There’s also 18/7/5 Joker Poker (99.29%) and 8/5 Bonus Poker (99.17%).
The single line games are spread in $0.25, $0.50, $1 and $2 denominations. The multi-hand games are quarter, half-dollar and dollar. The players club returns another 0.3%.
Loosest Slots In Vegas Downtown
Eureka
Eureka is just east of Las Vegas Blvd on Sahara Avenue. It spreads similar bar video poker as South Point. The best game is Not So Ugly Ducks (99.73%). Others include 9/6 Bonus Poker Deluxe (99.64%) and 8/5 Bonus Poker (99.17%).
