Oklahoma State has had its scrimmages, too, and it’s all working.

SW Missouri State and South Alabama aren’t exactly Missouri and Alabama, but still, the Cowboys needed the layups to get the new parts to the passing game working.

Taylor Cornelius has thrown three picks, but he’s also been explosive as the new main man under center, connecting on several big plays and hitting 67% of his passes. And best of all? There’s a rested and ready Justice Hill ready to go.

The star running back hasn’t been needed so far, carrying the ball just 19 times and averaging over eight yards per carry. He might not bust loose a whole slew of big runs against this Bronco D, but he’s ready to be a workhorse if needed.

The respective punting games might be the other key. Boise State hasn’t needed to boot it too much, but it’s averaging under 30 yards per try so far. Oklahoma State’s punters are averaging 46 yards per pop

What’s Going To Happen

Boise State will show it belongs deep in the hunt for the Group of Five’s New Year’s Six slot with a brilliant defensive performance to frustrate the Cowboys for most of the game, and then the Power Fiver will turn it on.

Hill will get bottled up in the first half, but two big second half runs will anchor a tough performance to overcome a shaky day from Cornelius. The Cowboy D won’t be special until it has to be, coming up with two late stops to survive.
