The Ravens and a pair of underdogs highlight the best bets of Week 2. The early part of the NFL season is always tough to forecast and 2020 was no exception. Big underdogs like Jacksonville. Jan 24, 2021 NFL playoffs best bets and player props for Conference Championships, updated daily. The latest news and best AFC/NFC title game prop plays. The Bills “held” Kelce to 5/65/2 in week 6 but.
The Week 1 picks got off to a rough start, but a strong finish salvaged the opening slate of games. It’s always tough to start the season because the information on some teams isn’t super reliable. Week 2 should be a little easier, but that surely won’t stop me from getting a bunch wrong!
Spreads will be provided by BetMGM as always.

Week 1 picks: 8-7-1
Overall: 8-7-1
CLEVELAND (-6) vs. Cincinnati
Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports
I forgot to tweet my pick, but I go with the honor system. I had the Bengals because the Browns with a new coach on a short week scared me a bit. Needless to say I was wrong on how Cleveland would show, but Cincinnati snuck in with the backdoor cover at the end.
Pick: Bengals (+6)
PITTSBURGH (-7) vs. Denver
Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports
At first I was going to say that there’s no way the Steelers will lose to a not-that-good Broncos quarterback. But then again they lost to Tim Tebow in a playoff game so it’s hard to rule anything out.
Pick: Steelers (-7)
San Francisco (-7) vs. NEW YORK JETS

Do you want to know how bad the Jets are? This line was the 49ers -7 points. Then through the course of the week they lost Richard Sherman, George Kittle and Dee Ford. The line did not move.
Pick: 49ers (-7)
GREEN BAY (-6) vs. Detroit
Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports
The Lions got lit up by Mitchell Trubisky last week. This season is all about coaching and it’s becoming clearer that Detroit has one of the worst head coaches in the league.
Pick: Packers (-6)
Buffalo (-5.5) vs. MIAMI
Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports
Is Josh Allen going to win an MVP award this year? That sounds insane on the surface, but consider a couple things here. First, Allen’s numbers. He completed 71.4 percent of his throws for 312 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. Second, he could guide the Bills to their first AFC East title since 1995 and keep the Patriots from winning it again. If he does that he’ll have the narrative to go along with his numbers and that’s how MVPs are won.
Pick: Dolphins (+5.5)
TAMPA BAY (-8) vs. Carolina
Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports
Can we just get something out in the open real quick? Yes – it looks odd seeing Tom Brady in a jersey that is not a Patriots jersey. It will probably always look weird. Pointing that out every time an image of Brady pops up in a Bucs uniform is no longer required. We all know. It’s strange. It’s always going to be strange. Move on.
Pick: Bucs (-8)
INDIANAPOLIS (-3.5) vs. Minnesota
Douglas DeFelice-USA TODAY Sports
Here’s a fun one. I picked the Vikings to win the NFC North and the Colts to win the AFC South. Minnesota got waxed at home by their division rival Packers, while the Colts got beat by a Jags team that is not going to be very good. Not great!
Pick: Colts (-3.5)
PHILADELPHIA (-2) vs. Los Angeles Rams

Here’s a good time to talk about the top seven picks in the 2017 NFL draft. Jared Goff went No. 1 overall. Carson Wentz went No. 2 overall. After that it went Joey Bosa, Ezekiel Elliott, Jalen Ramsey, Ronnie Stanley and DeForest Buckner. That is an incredible group of players and that is worth recognizing. Shoutout to the 2016 draft.
Pick: Eagles (-2)
DALLAS (-3.5) vs. Atlanta

This week Danny Kelly, one of the hosts of the Ringer Fantasy Football Show, mentioned on the podcast that Dan Quinn was the Falcons’ head coach and not Gus Bradley. I knew those were two different people, but also if you’d have told me Bradley was the Falcons’ head coach I’m not certain I would have even questioned it.
Pick: Cowboys (-3.5)
CHICAGO (-5.5) vs. New York Giants

Fun with mascots! Bears vs. Giants sounds like an incredible Sci-Fi movie. It can even feature cameos from like, Mike Singletary and Phil Simms or something. Hasn’t Lawrence Taylor done some movies? Maybe LT is the guy. Additionally, the Giants and Bears is perhaps the scariest mascot mashup of the week. Giant bears? I’ve seen ‘The Revenant’ and no thank you.
Pick: Giants (+5.5)
TENNESSEE (-7.5) vs. Jacksonville
Douglas DeFelice-USA TODAY Sports
Remember when I wrote, “Giants and Bears is perhaps the scariest mascot mashup of the week”? Jaguars and Titans might take the crown. A Jaguar alebrije was scary enough in Coco. A Jaguar Titan? Bruh.
Pick: Jaguars (+7.5)
ARIZONA (-7) vs. Washington
Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports
Both of these teams got somewhat surprise wins last week, but Arizona’s success feels a lot more sustainable. Unrelated to anything but it needs to be mentioned here: Ron Rivera is awesome. Shoutout to Ron Rivera.
Pick: Cardinals (-7)
Baltimore (-7) vs. HOUSTON
Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports
So the Texans traded DeAndre Hopkins this offseason and then opened their schedule at the Chiefs and home vs. the Ravens. It’s like the league punished them or something. Do you think every time Deshaun Watson turns to hand the ball off and David Johnson is there he gets a little sad?
Pick: Ravens (-7)
Kansas City (-8.5) vs. LOS ANGELES CHARGERS
Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports
Typically the “can X team go undefeated” stuff doesn’t start until they’re undefeated in Week 8 or 9 or so. With the Chiefs it can start now. They maintained good continuity this offseason and they have the NFL’s most unstoppable weapon in Patrick Mahomes. There are a lot of things pointing to Kansas City winning all their games.
Pick: Chiefs (-8.5)

SEATTLE (-4) vs. New England

The Patriots are underdogs in the regular season for the first time in their last 64 games. That is an insane streak of games to go into as the favorites. Another insane thing is that Pete Carroll is older than Bill Belichick.
Pick: Seahawks (-4)

One minor shame of fans not attending games for the most part this season is that we missed out on the people who went to the Saints’ home game vs. the Bucs, partied all week, then followed the club to Vegas to see them face the Raiders. Those stories would’ve been remarkable and it’s a small bummer we won’t get them.
Pick: Saints (-5.5)
